Our ambulance vehicle is a 'Lazer' body based on a Ford Transit chassis. The engine is a 2.5 Litre Diesel Turb (The 'o' fell off some time ago!)The vehicle is designed around the single patient concept but also has two swivel seats on the near-side which can double as a second cot.

On average the vehicle covers 4,500 - 5,000 miles per month and conveys approximately 1,800 patients per year.

The equipment on board includes mutli-posture trolley cot, Lifepak 12 Defibrillator, Ohmeda Pulse Oximeter, Oxygen therapy equipment and much more.

The Essex Ambulance Mobile Medical Control is currently based at Dunmow. This vehicle is used as a Control and communications centre at major events.
